Ahmed Ali

Ahmed Ali brings over 15 years of experience at the intersection of engineering, business, and energy resilience. With a BSc in Engineering, a Master's in Electrical Engineering from Scotland, and an MBA from the University of Strathclyde, he blends technical depth with strategic vision to lead Rapolus Energy. Driven by a lifelong mission to solve real-world problems, Ahmed's work focuses on ensuring power is available where it’s needed most — from hospitals and industrial hubs to fast-growing urban infrastructure across Africa and beyond. Before founding Rapolus, Ahmed honed his skills at Siemens through their elite leadership program, contributing to complex energy and infrastructure projects. He has since led multiple initiatives across East Africa, helping clients overcome operational energy challenges with smart, context-aware solutions. For Ahmed, energy is not just a utility — it's a lifeline. His work is rooted in understanding local realities and crafting resilient systems that support sustainable growth.

Edmund Dilger

Edmund has worked on projects to provide capital to growth opportunities for most of his career. He worked in investment banking for 16 years, with 12 years at Lazard advising financial institutions in Europe, North America and Asia on M&A deals and capital raisings. He has a long-term interest in sustainable finance and believes in the power of innovative businesses to provide solutions at scale to combat climate change, investing in climate tech startups for the last 10 years. Edmund studied at the University of St Andrews and at the London School of Economics and is currently studying part-time for the Diploma stage of a Masters at the University of Cambridge’s Institute for Sustainability Leadership, as a result of which he published a co-authored paper on emerging climate litigation impacts on the banking industry.
